Structure of the University

The cam­pus of the uni­ver­si­ty is locat­ed in one of the old­est parks of Saint Peters­burg, which is an object of his­tor­i­cal and cul­tur­al heritage.

Inter­na­tion­al activ­i­ties. The FTU par­tic­i­pates in the EU inter­na­tion­al pro­gram on coop­er­a­tion in sphere of edu­ca­tion TEMPUSTACIS (train­ing abroad in the frames of exchange pro­gram), in the Russian–Finnish exchange stu­dent pro­gram FIRST. To pro­mote coop­er­a­tion with inter­na­tion­al research orga­ni­za­tions such as IUFRO, EFI and oth­ers, the Inter­na­tion­al Cen­tre of Forestry and For­est Indus­try (ICFFI) was orga­nized in the Uni­ver­si­ty. The first Master’s degree pro­gram in the field of forestry (FORPEC) was also under­tak­en here. Stu­dents study­ing on this pro­gram have pos­si­bil­i­ty to obtain a dou­ble diplo­ma. The FTU also par­tic­i­pates in sev­er­al inter­na­tion­al Master’s degree pro­grams, such as Euro­forester, Sufona­ma, MScEF and CBUFEE.

Voca­tion­al edu­ca­tion. At the Col­lege of For­est Indus­try Autom­a­ti­za­tion (Fac­ul­ty of Tech­ni­cian Edu­ca­tion of the FTU) stu­dents can get voca­tion­al edu­ca­tion and then con­tin­ue their stud­ies in the Uni­ver­si­ty to obtain high­er pro­fes­sion­al education.

High­er pro­fes­sion­al edu­ca­tion. The FTU offer more than 40 pro­grams in the fields of man­age­ment, refor­esta­tion and con­ser­va­tion of for­est recours­es, log­ging, trans­porta­tion and deep pro­cess­ing of wood. Research train­ing is offered at the MSc and PhD levels.

Con­tin­ued pro­fes­sion­al edu­ca­tion. At the For­est Busi­ness School (a com­mer­cial struc­ture of the FTU) stu­dents can obtain addi­tion­al voca­tion­al edu­ca­tion (more than 60 fields of study) to get sec­ond high­er edu­ca­tion degree with a state certificate.
