His­to­ry

1924–1929 — ori­gin of the for­mal for­est eco­nom­ic edu­ca­tion in the Leningrad For­est Insti­tute. 1930–1941 — estab­lish­ment of the first in the coun­try for­est eco­nom­ic fac­ul­ty. 1932 — cre­ation of the Depart­ment of Eco­nom­ics and Orga­ni­za­tion of Wood­work­ing, Paper and Wood Chem­i­cal Indus­tries (Head is Prof. S.A. Gore­lik). 1943 — cre­ation of the Depart­ment of Eco­nom­ics and Plan­ning of For­est Indus­try and Forestry (Head is Prof. I.S. Prokhorchuk). 1949 — Depart­ment of Eco­nom­ics and Orga­ni­za­tion of For­est Indus­try (Head Prof. I.S. Prokhorchuk). 1956–1965, 1966–1983 — Depart­ment of Eco­nom­ics and Orga­ni­za­tion of For­est Indus­try (Head is Prof. B.S. Petrov). Mid-80’s. — Depart­ment of Sci­en­tif­ic Orga­ni­za­tion of Labor and Man­age­ment (Head Prof. L.B. Ivanov). Merg­er of two depart­ments (Depart­ment Sci­en­tif­ic Orga­ni­za­tion of Labor and Man­age­ment and Depart­ment of Eco­nom­ics and Orga­ni­za­tion of the For­est Indus­try) in one Depart­ment of Man­age­ment in For­est Sec­tor (Head Prof. L.B. Ivanov). Until 1998 — Depart­ment of Man­age­ment in the For­est Sec­tor (Head is Prof. L.B. Ivanov until 1996). 1998 — Depart­ment of Pro­duc­tion Man­age­ment (Head Prof. A.N. Chu­bin­sky). 2000 — Depart­ment of Eco­nom­ics and Man­age­ment of Wood Pro­cess­ing Indus­tries (Head Prof. A.N. Chu­bin­sky). 2008–2015 — Depart­ment of Eco­nom­ics and Man­age­ment of Wood Pro­cess­ing Indus­tries (Head of the Depart­ment Prof. AI Korablev). Cur­rent­ly, the depart­ment is admin­is­ter­ing study direc­tion 38.03.02 “Man­age­ment”,  pro­file “Pro­duc­tion man­age­ment at wood­work­ing enter­pris­es”. The depart­ment car­ries out eco­nom­ic train­ing for stu­dents of the Insti­tute of Chem­i­cal Pro­cess­ing of Tree Bio­mass and Tech­nos­phere Safe­ty, the Insti­tute of Land­scape Archi­tec­ture, Con­struc­tion and Wood Pro­cess­ing. The Depart­ment also leads train­ing cours­es on con­tin­u­ous edu­ca­tion at the Interindus­try Insti­tute on Advanced Education.

Sci­ence

Fac­ul­ty staff of the depart­ment con­duct teach­ing, method­olog­i­cal and sci­en­tif­ic research activ­i­ties. Employ­ees of the depart­ment take part in the inter­na­tion­al sci­en­tif­ic projects and pro­grams. Reports and pre­sen­ta­tions are made at numer­ous inter­na­tion­al con­fer­ences and in uni­ver­si­ties, such as Maas­tricht (Hol­land), Umea (Swe­den), Helsin­ki and Joen­suu (Fin­land) etc.
