Faculty of mechanical technology of wood

For­est and wood pro­cess­ing at present is one of the pri­or­i­ty tasks of the for­est branch of nation­al econ­o­my. The Fac­ul­ty of Mechan­i­cal Tech­nol­o­gy of Wood was estab­lished in 1925. Now it has the lead in train­ing of qual­i­fied spe­cial­ists in the field in the coun­try. Russ­ian sci­en­tists active­ly par­tic­i­pate in research, they are active mem­bers of the Inter­na­tion­al For­est Indus­try Forum on Prob­lems of Wood Processing.

The Cen­ter of non-com­mer­cial part­ner­ship was cre­at­ed to train future spe­cial­ists on up-to-date tech­ni­cal and tech­no­log­i­cal basis. We do our best to pro­mote an effec­tive inter­ac­tion of edu­ca­tion, sci­ence, and the knowl­edge of equip­ment pro­duc­ers and man­u­fac­tur­ers engaged in wood processing.

Stu­dents of this fac­ul­ty obtain seri­ous the­o­ret­i­cal and prac­ti­cal train­ing in lab­o­ra­to­ries of the fac­ul­ty, where a high­ly tech­no­log­i­cal equip­ment nec­es­sary for the up-to-date for­est pro­cess­ing was installed with assis­tance of Finnish and Ger­man companies.
Fields of training

35.03.02 TECHNOLOGY OF LOGGING AND WOOD PROCESSING PRODUCTIONS

The grad­u­ates work at enter­pris­es on pro­duc­tion of var­i­ous wood mate­ri­als (carv­ing wood, veneer, wood par­ti­cle boards, etc.), tim­ber­work man­u­fac­ture, musi­cal instru­ments, in fur­ni­ture design apply­ing spe­cial pro­grams (Basis fur­ni­ture mak­er, b‑CAD fur­ni­ture mak­er, K‑3 cot­tage), in devel­op­ment and adop­tion of wood­work­ing equipment.

27.03.01 STANDARDIZATION AND METROLOGY

Objects of pro­fes­sion­al activ­i­ties of the grad­u­ates are equip­ment of enter­pris­es and test­ing lab­o­ra­to­ries, meth­ods and means of mea­sure­ments, test­ing and con­trol, nor­ma­tive doc­u­men­ta­tion of stan­dard­iza­tion sys­tems, metrol­o­gy, cer­ti­fi­ca­tion and qual­i­ty man­age­ment, metro­log­i­cal sup­port of production.
