The purpose of the program. The program trains highly qualified economists-analysts for the leading forest companies, state and municipal governmental bodies, research and analytical centers. Serious fundamental training is carried out in the field of modern economic theory, econometrics, finance, environmental economics, labor, accounting, and audit.

Material and technical support. The program courses have good technical and information support. Computer classes and media library provide the opportunity to use information references and search engines. Eelectronic library resources include databases of domestic and foreign periodicals, collections of electronic books. These resources are especially important for the preparation of course and final qualification theses.

  1. Educational program “Economics” has several trajectories of training (directions). They give students an opportunity to choose an individual training track based on their personal preferences. Graduates are able to choose topic of their final qualifying work, that matching their prospective employment.

Academic mobility. Cooperation was arranged with the Dresden Technical University, the Institute of Economics and Organization of Forestry of Eastern Europe, the Cologne Technical University, the University of Eastern Finland (Mikkeli), the University of Tampere, the University of Applied Sciences of Karelia (Joensuu, Finland), Natural Resources Institute “Luke” (Finland), Latvian Agrarian University (Jelgava, Latvia), Business school of ARC (Switzerland). Cooperation with employers. Graduates of the program work in leading Russian and foreign commercial organizations, as well as in state and municipal branches of authorities. Representatives of the leading enterprises of the forest sector give lectures for the students of the program. Excursions are organized to the leading enterprises of the forest sector.
  1. Our graduates are in demand on labor markets. Many full-time students, which show good results during practice, may start working career before graduation. A graduate will be able to work as an accountant, auditor, financial analyst, controller, economic expert, tax inspector, economist, and assume administrative positions in the state and municipal bodies at federal, regional and local levels.

The capacity of the teaching staff. The program is conducted by the highly qualified faculty staff, including leading experts in the field of economics — authors of monographs and scientific articles in Russian and foreign journals, experts and consultants of governmental bodies, business associations and practitioners. To implement the educational program, we involve representatives from business, public sector and economic consultants. More than half of the faculty members have practical experience in their respective field of expertise, 75% of the teachers have degrees and publications in Russia and abroad. About 80% of our staff conduct research and consulting projects for business.

Competitiveness of students. In the process of training, bachelors acquire extensive knowledge in fundamental economic subjects, master methods and tools of economic analysis, study the most significant courses of applied economics. Undergraduate program “Economics” is a new generation program, which is based on a systematic approach to the economy as a complex multi-factor subject. Interaction of various socio-economic processes is studied at the level of state policy and public finance, commercial and non-profit organizations. The program emphasize on diverse and interdisciplinary methods used in the training process. At the end of the program undergraduates will be ready to start their professional careers in various fields of the economy. They can also continue their education at the next educational level and obtain master degree and further promote their career growth.

This is sufficient for preparing quality term papers, exams and final graduate theses.

  1. The program is based on three fundamentally important and interrelated conceptual grounds: (1) systematic approach; (2) focus on solutions to specific business problems; (3) Combination of full-time modules and technologies of distance education. The program includes practical classes and trainings, scientific and practical seminars with the representatives of government and business. It will provide graduates with unique theoretical and practical knowledge and skills.
