The purpose of the program. The program trains highly qualified economists-analysts for the leading forest companies, state and municipal governmental bodies, research and analytical centers. Serious fundamental training is carried out in the field of modern economic theory, econometrics, finance, environmental economics, labor, accounting, and audit.
Material and technical support. The program courses have good technical and information support. Computer classes and media library provide the opportunity to use information references and search engines. Eelectronic library resources include databases of domestic and foreign periodicals, collections of electronic books. These resources are especially important for the preparation of course and final qualification theses.
Academic mobility. Cooperation was arranged with the Dresden Technical University, the Institute of Economics and Organization of Forestry of Eastern Europe, the Cologne Technical University, the University of Eastern Finland (Mikkeli), the University of Tampere, the University of Applied Sciences of Karelia (Joensuu, Finland), Natural Resources Institute “Luke” (Finland), Latvian Agrarian University (Jelgava, Latvia), Business school of ARC (Switzerland). Students studying on the under-graduate program have the opportunity to undergo training for one semester in the partner universities or participate in short-term (1–2 weeks) exchange programs. Students of the program have the opportunity to practice at national and foreign enterprises. |

Cooperation with employers. Graduates of the program work in leading Russian and foreign commercial organizations, as well as in state and municipal branches of authorities. Representatives of the leading enterprises of the forest sector give lectures for the students of the program. Excursions are organized to the leading enterprises of the forest sector.
The capacity of the teaching staff. The program is conducted by the highly qualified faculty staff, including leading experts in the field of economics — authors of monographs and scientific articles in Russian and foreign journals, experts and consultants of governmental bodies, business associations and practitioners. To implement the educational program, we involve representatives from business, public sector and economic consultants. More than half of the faculty members have practical experience in their respective field of expertise, 75% of the teachers have degrees and publications in Russia and abroad. About 80% of our staff conduct research and consulting projects for business. Competitiveness of students. In the process of training, bachelors acquire extensive knowledge in fundamental economic subjects, master methods and tools of economic analysis, study the most significant courses of applied economics. Undergraduate program “Economics” is a new generation program, which is based on a systematic approach to the economy as a complex multi-factor subject. Interaction of various socio-economic processes is studied at the level of state policy and public finance, commercial and non-profit organizations. The program emphasize on diverse and interdisciplinary methods used in the training process. At the end of the program undergraduates will be ready to start their professional careers in various fields of the economy. The purpose of the program. The program trains highly qualified managers, economists, marketing specialists, logisticians, financial and business analysts for the leading Russian companies, including forestry enterprises, governmental authorities and research centers. Serious fundamental training in management, marketing, modern economic theory, mathematical modeling, business planning is provided.
Material and technical support. All of the program courses have overall technical and information support. Computer classes and media library provide an opportunity to use information resources and search systems. Electronic library resources include databases of domestic and foreign periodicals, collections of electronic books, etc. This is especially important for preparing competent interim reports and final qualification theses.
Academic mobility. Starting from the third year of study students of this program have an opportunity to choose one of the two graduating departments: “Forest Policy, Economics and Management” or “Economics and Management of Wood Processing Industries”. The choice depends on specifics of practical program components at the selected departments. Students of the program have an opportunity to undergo training for one semester in a partner university or participate in short-term (1–2 weeks) exchange programs and take certain modules of their choice. Travel to the leading European forestry enterprises is also arranged. Students of the program have an opportunity to practice at foreign enterprises abroad. |

The program is led by a skillful faculty team, which includes highly qualified specialists in the field of management — authors of scientific articles in Russian and foreign journals, as well as practitioners from real-life businesses. Master classes and lectures involve representatives of business, authorities and advisers on forest management issues. More than half of the professors have experience in their field of the competence. About 75% of the teachers have a scientific degree and publish their work in Russia and abroad, 80% conduct research and consultancy work on business matters. Competitiveness of students. The purpose of the program. The Master’s program trains students predominantly for the following professional activities: (i) economic services of forestry organizations, (ii) state and municipal authorities, (iii) academic and departmental research organizations; (iv) educational organizations. The program gives an opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills of independent research and practical work. These skills are demanded by organizations of various forms of ownership (civil service, business, non-profit associations, etc.). Graduates are to solve complex economic problems, take decision and provide solutions.
Material and technical support. The educational program benefit from the well-equipped classrooms with demonstration equipment and electronic visual aids. Premises for independent self-study are equipped with computers and internet. Access is provided to the global electronic information databases and educational environment.
Academic mobility. The program cooperates with the business community. Among the partners of the program are representatives of manufacturing companies, international companies, technological and innovative start-ups. Active international cooperation is implemented for providing international educational environment for our students. Our graduates are able to apply acquired analytical competencies in real business cases and resolve complex issues. The main goal of the program is to give students all necessary knowledge and skills to enable them to continue working effectively both in public and private sectors of economy. Graduates who intend to work in business or in civil service will receive necessary knowledge about functioning of the economic mechanisms. 38.06.01 Economics. Post graduates
Recruitment to the post-graduate program of the Institute of Management and Economics of Forestry Sector is conducted on a paid basis and only in the full-time program. The planned number of annual enrolment is five people. Cost of training is set up at 130,304 rubles per a year. Training term is 3 years. The scientific supervisors are highly professional staff members of the Institute, including professors, doctors of science, PhDs. After graduation, the post-graduates normally occupy leading positions in science, education and business. Admission procedure requires obligatory interview.
