Faculty of chemical technology and biotechnology

Graduates of the Faculty are specialists in the field of technology of deep processing of plant biomass. They work at enterprises of chemical, food industries and health safety, biotechnology and microbiological productions, in research and design institutions.

An example of successful collaboration of the Faculty with other countries is a joint project of Russia and Australia Sologran International on production of bioactive substances that are unrivalled in the world.

Fields of training

18.03.02 ENERGY AND RESOURCE SAVING PROCESSES IN CHEMICAL TECHNOLOGY, PETROCHEMISTRY AND BIOTECHNOLOGY

Professional activities of ecologists concerning forest complex include organization and management of environmental protection work at enterprises, creation of efficient waste-free forest exploitation systems, produce certification for the purpose of ecological safety of economics, reducing risk of anthropogenic environmental effects, and development, exploitation and improving of nature conservation technologies and equipment.

18.03.01 CHEMICAL TECHNOLOGY

Graduates of the Department of Pulp-and-Paper Production Technology are specialists on chemical wood processing, paper and carton production, and industrial ecology, as well as refining and recuperation of industrial emissions.

Graduates of the Department of Biotechnology mastered a whole complex of microbiological, chemical and biotechnological disciplines and successfully work at any biotechnological enterprises: in hydrolysis, food, cosmetic and other branches of industry.

The Department of Forest Chemical Produce, Wood Chemistry and Physical Chemistry trains specialists who become multifunctional workers for enterprises of forest chemistry and allied industries. The staff of the Department develop ecologically clean and resource-saving technologies of wood waste processing with extraction of biologically active substances, such as medical products, enzymes, vitamins, natural pigments used in medicine, perfume manufacturing, and cosmetology.

Graduates of the Department of Wood Composite Materials work in the field of wood particle and fiber board production, wood and paper laminated plastics production, in furniture firms and at the plants of artificial resins and plastics.
