The Prepara­to­ry Divi­sion at St. Peters­burg State For­est Tech­ni­cal Uni­ver­si­ty is about 20 years old. The main goal of the train­ing is to teach the Russ­ian lan­guage and Russ­ian-lan­guage ter­mi­nol­o­gy used in deliv­er­ing the main dis­ci­plines. Lead­ing uni­ver­si­ty pro­fes­sors cre­ate the basis for suc­cess­ful study of inter­na­tion­al stu­dents in Russ­ian uni­ver­si­ties. After grad­u­at­ing from the Prepara­to­ry Divi­sion, stu­dents can apply not only to the State For­est Tech­ni­cal Uni­ver­si­ty, but also to oth­er Russ­ian universities.
